As a young man Edmund Hillary loved nothing better than climbing mountains. He dreamed of one day doing
to the Himalayas and Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.
In 1953 Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa became the first men to climb Mount Everest. Ed's
dream had come true.
A few years later a team led by Sir Ed made another dramatic journey - this time travelling by tractor
to the South pole.
